QUESTIONS

We hope the information below answers any burning questions you have before joining us at The Church Weekend Away this year!
To open each section please click the arrow.

  • The theme of the weekend is ‘Aflame’. Our prayer for the weekend is that each one of us would have our hearts set aflame by Jesus as we encounter him, and that as a church, HTC would increasingly be a beacon aflame with the love of God, radiating that love across South London.

  • Please head to the main reception area upon arrival where we will be able to check you in from 5pm onwards. For the purposes of set up and health and safety, please endeavour to arrive from 5pm and not before.

The venue has been chosen to minimise travelling time from London so that people won’t need to arrive too late after work. A buffet supper will run from 6.15-7.45pm (with family dining also available from 5-6pm) with the first evening session starting straight at 8pm.

  • Standard rooms at De Vere are either a double or twin hotel room. All rooms have an en-suite bathroom.

There are also en-suite family rooms available. Family rooms can sleep one child in a cot and up to two additional children on a pull-out bed.

Please note that child ticket prices are based on children sharing a room with their parents. Where this is not possible, due to number or age of children, we will discuss which room allocation works best to keep costs down.

  • The hotel facilities include a swimming pool and gym, tennis courts, an outdoor play area and 40 acres of parkland grounds. All these are free to use though please note that children will need supervision in certain areas. To use the swimming pool you will need to book an hour slot at reception, (no booking required for the gym).

In addition to our meeting rooms and restaurant, there is also a bar and lounge for guests to use in the evenings/free time.

Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel.

  • The weekend will end with a family service followed by a buffet lunch running from 1.30-2pm (please note if you have selected the option for a grab and go lunch you will not be able to join for the buffet lunch on the day).

  • The weekend will include planned times for relaxing and socialising including entertainment on both the Friday and Saturday evenings. A range of activities will also be available on Saturday afternoon but everything will be optional.

  • Absolutely! If you haven’t already included any dietary requirements on your sign up, please email through to admin@holytrinityclapham.org by 20th June 2024. We will pass these on to the hotel Chef and their team.

  • If you haven’t included any mobility issues on your sign up please email through to admin@holytrinityclapham.org by 20th June 2024. We will make sure your room is situated in an accessible area, with accessible bathroom facilities if you’ve requested. All our sessions are in the main conference room which is on the ground floor. Saturday afternoon activities are a range to suit a variety of interests and needs.

In the week running up to the weekend away you will be emailed to let you know who that person is. If you have any concerns at all about room arrangements, please email admin@holytrinityclapham.org.

  • The weekend away is a great opportunity for those newer to HTC to meet others in a fun and relaxed environment. There will be plenty of time to socialise over coffee or a drink in the bar. We encourage everyone on the weekend to chat with people they haven't met before to get to know more of the HTC family.
